Windows will say “Windows protected your PC”

The installer is not code signed, so every download sees the same warning. It fades as more people install each release.

1. Your browser may hold the file first. In Edge, open the download's menu, then Keep, then Keep anyway.
2. Run CrewroomCompanion-win-Setup.exe. Click More info, then Run anyway. The dialog shows CrewroomCompanion-win-Setup.exe and Unknown publisher; any other file name is not ours.
3. Setup runs for a few seconds with no admin prompt, then the Companion opens and asks for a pairing code.

No Run anyway button means Smart App Control is on. Turn it off in Windows Security under App & browser control, or switch your platform to Console in Settings and log flights by hand.

Pair it

1. Log in and open Pair Companion App and generate a code. It lasts 30 minutes.
2. Type it into the Companion.

One code pairs the machine for every pilot you own. A PC pilot cannot report for duty until a machine is paired.
